Job Type: Situation Vacant - Research Assistant (University College of Pharmacy) No. of Posts: - Department: University College of Pharmacy
Situation Vacant
Applications are invited from Pakistani Nationals for the post of "Research Assistant" for HEC Funded Research Project (6777) titled "Computational & Laboratory Based Drug Development Studies on 5-[{4-Chlorophenoxy} Methyl]-1,3,4-Oxadiazole-2thiol" for a period of Two Years with a fixed remuneration of Rs. 20,000 /- per month.
Project Details
The drug development, a costly and time consuming process, can be geared up by combining two approaches; computational tools / computer aided drug design and laboratory-based investigations. The present study will be focused on a new chemical entity, 5-[(4-chlorophenoxy) methyl]-1, 3, 4-oxadiazole-2thil, to determine/predict drug-qualifying structural features, physicochemical properties (log P, log D, log S and pKa), inherent stability characteristics, pharmacokinetics and biological studies. Computational predictions will be confirmed in laboratory studies/trials to make this chemical entity to a drug candidate. The development of different analytical methods will be helpful to determine the drug metabolism, purity and amount in bulk material, body fluids and tissues. The compound will also be screened for a number of pharmacological activities using in vitro/in vivo models
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate has to perform the following duties:
• (Solubility enhancement) salt formation of 5-[{4-Chlorophenoxy} Methyl]-1,3,4-Oxadiazole-2thiol
• Antioxidant and hepato protective studies |
