Applications are invited from Pakistani Nationals for following posts for appointment under Tenure Track System.

Qualifications:
• Ph.D. Degree/Terminal Qualification in the relevant field (from an HEC recognized Institution).

Experience:  11-Years Post-Ph.D. or minimum of 7-years of Post-Ph.D. experience along with at least 12 years of experience prior to the Ph.D. (The experience to be counted is to be of teaching/research in a recognized University or a post-graduate institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International Organization).

As a General Rule:  The length of service in the rank of Associate Professor before being considered for promotion to full professor is four years.  Recommendations for promotion in less time should be carefully weighed and justified by the Administrative Officer making the recommendation.

Publications:  15 Research publications (with at least 5 publications in the past 5 years) in journals recognized for the purpose of appointment on Tenure Track by the Higher Education Commission, i.e. research papers published in Journals that fall under the category W, X and Y for Social Sciences while for Science disciplines papers published in only W category (Impact Factor)

General Requirements:
• Area of specialization:  Eukaryotic Molecular Genetics/Molecular Biology.

The Responsibility of the Job Includes:
•    Developing and implementing academic programmes of the School according to the current and changing needs.
•    Plan, initiate and execute research according to the School programme.
•    Able to supervise research of Ph.D. students, with a potential to win research grants from National and International agencies.

Note:  The earlier notification for the post of Professor advertised in January, 2011 is withdrawn.  Hence, applicants who applied for that post must apply a fresh.

•    Candidates already in service should apply through proper channel by due date and submit service certificate issued by their present and former employees otherwise, their applications will not be entertained.
•    Incomplete application (in any case) or those received after due date shall also not be entertained.
•    The application (completed in all respects) should reach the office of the School of Biological Sciences, University of the Punjab, Quaid-e-Azam Campus, Lahore.
•    The SBS reserves the right not to fill/withdraw any post/withhold the appointment against any advertised post without assigning any reason.
