Qualifications: Ph.D. degree/terminal qualification in the relevant field (from HEC recognized institution) and excellent written communication skills, as well as, excellent presentation skills.
Note: Ph.D. thesis of the local degree holders must have been evaluated by two foreign experts as per HEC guidelines for award of Ph.D. degree, in case foreign evaluation was not done then the candidate must provide evidence of two publications in journals recognized by HEC for the purpose of tenure track appointment.
Plant Sciences: Specialization in Plant Biotechnology/, Molecular Biology/Virology.
Animal Sciences: Specialization in Molecular Biology/Animal Cell Culture.
The applicants should have authoritative knowledge in area of their specialization and has significantly contributed to the solution of a biological problem using the techniques of molecular biology. The successful applicant should be a ‘hands on’ experimentalist who:
- Can initiate his/her personal research soon after appointment, using the facilities already available in SBS.
- Can organize laboratory courses in Molecular Biology.
- Can prepare SBS students for international GRE in Biology/Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology.
Post-doctoral Fellowship:
In addition, two vacancies are available from a Punjab Government development grant. These are specifically meant for those with a Ph.D. degree who wish to pursue ongoing projects (a) Molecular characterization of metal resistant genes of microorganism, and (b) Mutational analysis of colorectal cancer patients in Pakistan. The salary for these Post-doctoral positions is Rs.30,000/- per month. |
