Ms. Rukhsana Perveen commenced her professional career as a Forensic Scientist from country’s first state of the art Forensic Services Laboratory CAMB, University of the Punjab Lahore in 2005 after completion of her master degree from the Institute of Chemistry University of Punjab. She attained 1 year training from Forensic Services Laboratory and 6 months training from Indianapolis Indiana, USA in 2006 which included not only lab training but also participated in various international symposium, conferences and workshops. She has also participated in number of locally organized trainings. She utilized her expertise in resolving many criminal (robbery, murder, rape, sodomy) and parentage cases during her 11 year working experience being a DNA analyst.
She continued learning enhancement and completed her M.Phil degree in 2012. Currently she is pursuing her Ph.D degree from the Centre for Excellence in Molecular Biology, University of the Punjab Lahore. Furthermore, She is an active part of Forensic teaching and research group, focusing on development of best protocol for forensic analysis and population genetic studies to unlock the lineage of diverse Pakistani Populations to resolve its ancestry myth. She has published seven research articles in different peer reviewed journals.
