4. Types of publications
At PJERE, we are devoted to highlight a range of issues related to education. In doing so, however, we do not support any particular approach, methodology, paradigm or research setting. Rather, we aim to publish papers involving diverse approaches to empirical research studies (quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods) to encompass research and scholarship on all aspects of education, across all age groups and varied educational contexts.

5. Special issues
The Editors at PJERE may invite papers for a special issue with a focus on a particular theme related to education and its allied fields. Besides, PJERE also welcomes proposals for special issues. The special issue proposals may be developed by one or more than one 'Guest Editor(s)' who will work in close collaboration with the journal's Editor(s). However, it will be the responsibility of the Guest Editor(s) to align the proposed special issue with the aims and scope of PJERE, ensure the double-blind review of potential publications and liaison with the contributing authors. PJERE reserves the right to closely monitor the different stages involved within this process and consequently, recommend acceptance, modifications, or rejection of the proposed special issue. Prospective Guest Editor(s) may request for details regarding the development and processing of special issue proposals from the editorial office. [The detailed guidelines for Guest Editor(s) who wish to propose special issues for PJERE will be available shortly.]

6. Review process - double blind review policy
PJERE employs a double-blind review policy to ensure that original, primary and high quality research and scholarship is published. Both the reviewer and the author remain anonymous to each other throughout the publication process (Please see 'Instructions for authors').

As the first step, the Editors evaluate the submitted papers on the basis of alignment with the aims and scope of the journal, originality, clarity of purpose, compliance with the genre of academic writing and style guidelines, and the relevant contribution in the field of education and allied disciplines. The corresponding author of the manuscript rejected at this stage, will be informed within two weeks of receipt.

Once the manuscripts survive the first stage of evaluation, they are sent to at least two experts from the relevant field for review. The reviewers are selected on the basis of their expertise in the specific field. The reviewers review the manuscript on the basis of originality, clearly spelled out purposes, sound theoretical and methodological framework, in-depth critique of related literature, correct and sufficient references to the previous literature, professional and research ethics, and a clear dissemination of findings with warranted conclusions. The manuscript is accepted only if both the referees vote in favor of the publication. Alternatively, they may reject the manuscript or suggest revisions. This process should not take more than three months on average. The revised manuscripts with major changes will be sent back to the initial reviewers for further advice. The Editors are responsible for the final decision regarding the publication of a manuscript.
