|PUCAD pays tribute to Zubeda Javed|
LAHORE: (Tuesday, June 05, 2012): Punjab University College of Art and Design organized a seminar and exhibition of paintings to pay tribute to Mrs Zubeda Javed; an eminent painter, teacher and chairperson of the same college here on Tuesday. The students, dignitaries, scholars, painters, art-critics and art historians attended the seminar to pay their respects to this wonderful painter who actually founded a modern and conceptual style in Landscape Painting in Pakistan. Mrs Zubeda Javed was the guest of honour and renowned architect Nayyar Ali Dada was the chief guest, who later, inaugurated the exhibition at the Anna Molka Galleries of the College. At this occasion, speakers talked about the talents and qualities of Zubeda Javed. While other speakers including Shahnawaz Zaidi, Quddus Mirza, Nadeem Alam and Dr Khalid Mahmood cast light on the various qualities of this veteran painter. While Shahid Jalal, Taniya Sohail, Riaz Fatima Naqvi, M. Javaid, Zarah David, Tehmina Ayaz, Amna Pataudi, Irum Zia, Dr. Rukhsana David, Zafarullah, Javed Iqbal, Peerzada Najam, Jamil Hussain, Shahnaz Malhi, Iqbal Khokar, Saira Dar and Rohaina Qureshi were also present at the occasion. Principal College Prof Dr Rahat Naveed Masud, thanked all guests and declared this event as a humble gesture to celebrate the efforts of the pioneers who have played a contributory role in the propagation of art & culture.
