LAHORE: (Thursday, September 06, 2012): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has said that the decision being taken by our rulers does not reflect the emotions of the people. He was addressing a seminar organized by Punjab University Academic Staff Association on “Defence Situation of Pakistan” at Al-Raazi Hall, Center for Undergraduate Studies here on Thursday. Former DG ISI Lt Gen (r) Hameed Gul was the chief guest while Prof Dr Mujahid Mansoori, Maulana Zubair, Dr Ajmal Niazi, Prof Dr Shaukat Ali, Prof Dr Mansoor Sarwar, Javed Sami and a large number of faculty members participated on the occasion. The VC said that should realize that how rich they were in civilization, human and mineral resources. He said that world was a battlefield and only those nations could get success who prepare themselves for it. He said that Americans were not our enemy but the cabal who had expanded its control over the world’s resources in two hundred years through usury and wars. He said that that’s the main reason behind their aggression against Islam as Islam did not compromise on usury. Lt Gen Hameed Gul said that Pakistan had no basic conflict with America but Israel and India. He said that Israel understood Pakistan as its No 1 enemy and Pakistan was facing problems because of Israel’s fear of its existence. He said that Israel had a short life and when Israel will be destroyed, peace would take place throughout the world. He said the US could not directly attack Pakistan but fanning sectarianism and igniting conflicts within the country and hence the US was softening her target. He said that Pakistan was the only relief zone for the US as it could only be used for transportation of $80 billion ammunition and other material through 1.3 million containers on troops pullout. He said that the US knew that he could not win war through drone attacks but it wanted to annoy tribal people and use them against Pakistan. He said that target killing in Karachi, Balochistan’s deteriorating situation etc were the tools of enemies and we should avoid them. Dr Mujahid Mansoori said that a think tank should work on the defence capacity of Pakistan despite the fact that the 65-year-old state had fought 8 wars. He said that despite we had lost a part of our country and our economic and social development indicators were shameful, but our defence capacity was incredible and strange and we even developed atomic bomb. He said that the US democrats in their elections charter had confessed the reality that they could not move forward without the help of Pakistan. Maualana Zubair said that the US and Israeli forces were not fighting a group of extremist but they had waged war on the whole Muslim Ummah. He said that their real target was Islam. He said that our rulers must avoid any aggression in North Waziristan as the tribal people there were not involved in terrorism in Pakistan. He said that we must review our policies in this regard.
