US varsity dean calls on Acting VC

LAHORE: (Wednesday, March 20, 2013): Valparaiso University, Indiana, United States’ Dean Prof Dr David Rowland on Wednesday called on PU Acting Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Liaqat Ali at his office. Advisor to Vice Chancellor Col Ikramullah Khan, Dean Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences Prof Dr Ehsan Malik and Director External Linkages Maria I Maldonado were also present on the occasion. Later, the delegation visited PU Undergraduate Study Centre and where Dr Rowland addressed a large number of students from various colleges and institutes of the university at Al-Raazi Hall. Briefing the students regarding academic programs being offered at Valparaiso University, Dr Rowland said that it was a highly ranked school with high quality academic environment for graduate studies. He said that Valparaiso students learnt leadership and professional skills. He also informed the students regarding admission criteria and said that Punjab University and Valparaiso University were jointly working on a MoU to provide relatively low-cost education to PU graduates under a scholarship program. Later, a question-answer session was held in which students participated enthusiastically.
