LAHORE: (Sunday, April 28, 2013): Punjab University Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology’s PhD scholar Muhammad Ilyas, working in Bioinformatics and Genomics, has been selected as BIOVISION Next Fellow for the year 2013 among top young scientists of the world. Since 2001, BIOVISION, the World Life Sciences Forum, invites about 100 promising PhD students and post-docs, from all over the world, to attend the 3-day forum in Lyon, France, with a fellowship programme called BIOVISION NEXT which offers a unique opportunity to bright students in Life Sciences and related fields from institutions and universities all over the world to attend the forum and broaden their perspective. Earlier, Mr Ilyas was invited to participate in BIOVISION forum from 24-26th of March in Lyon, France. There were more than 3,000 participants from different well known public and private organizations from over 50 countries of the world. The forum provides an opportunity to discuss and talk about the major global challenges and how to meet them in better way and also how to fight with them in future. Mr Ilyas has also won two fellowships, awarded by Korean Research Institute of Biosciences and Biotechnology, Korea in 2009-10 and Personal Genomics Institute South Korea in 2012-13.
