PU provides psychological ad to Gujrat van victims

LAHORE: (Monday, June 10, 2013): Punjab University Centre for Clinical Psychology Director Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Kausar with cooperation of Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mujahid Kamran, University Counselor, Teachers of Centre and MS students took an initiative of providing counseling services to the affected families of school children died in traumatic incident of burning in Gujrat city. The team of clinical psychologists not only expressed their sorrow and grief to grieved parents, siblings and other family members but also provided them awareness about psychological implications and its management. They said trauma and counseling at earlier stage was important to help families cope with the trauma and enable them function effectively. They said the centre aimed at continuing these services till complete emotional recovery of the grieved families. Centre for Clinical Psychology also intends to submit formal plan to government to establish Psychological Emergency Services parallel to rescue 1122 so that counseling services are provided to the affected persons on immediate basis.
