Dr Aurangzeb filed baseless writ petition to pressurize admin: PU spokesman

LAHORE: (Wednesday, June 03, 2015): A Punjab University spokesman has said that Dr Aurangzeb Alamgir himself got professorship through unfair means and he did not meet the criteria for appointment as professor as his research papers were not published in HEC recognized journals in required number. The spokesman said that Dr Aurangzeb Alamgir had filed the baseless writ petition in an attempt to pressurize administration and to avoid inquiries against him, which has been dismissed by Honorable Lahore High Court as Dr Aurangzeb has withdrawn his application. Earlier, in 1990, Dr Mujahid Kamran’s professorship was challenged by Mr Shaukat Ali which was subsequently dismissed as withdrawn. The spokesman said further that Dr Aurangzeb Alamgir had also maneuvered appointment of Dr Mansoor Sarwar as professor misused his authority.
