Muslim Unity: religious scholars, people offer prayer at PU


LAHORE: (Wednesday, July 15, 2015): In collaboration with City 42 TV and Punjab University, religious scholars from all schools of thought, politicians, academicians, senior journalists, traders, government officers, members of civil society and people from various walks of life offered Zohar Prayer at Punjab University Jamia Mosque here on Wednesday to prove that there is unity among all ranks of Muslims. Maulana Fazal Raheem of Jamia Ashrafia was Imam of Zohar prayer especially organized to express religious harmony. Talking to media, Dr Mujahid Kamran said that religious scholars from all schools of thought had participated in the prayer which was a clear message that we believe in One Allah, One Rasool (SAW) and One Holy Book. He said that this was also a clear message for those who were involved in terrorism and they were on the wrong direction. He said that such elements must mend their ways and we all should work together for promotion of unity among Muslims and for the welfare of Islamic world. Religious leaders said that we had offered prayer in one mosque which clearly showed that we were united despite differences and this was a positive message for negative powers. Political leaders and members of civil society lauded the initiative of Chief Executive Officer City 42 TV Mohsin Naqvi and Punjab University and said that it had set a new trend. Senior journalists said that offering prayer of religious scholars of all Masaliks in one mosque was the best example of religious integrity. They said that media must focus uniting the Muslims. On this occasion, Maulana Fazal Raheem offered special dua for strengthening unity among the Muslims throughout the world.
