4th In-Service faculty training program started at University of the Punjab

The 4th In-Service faculty training program has started at the department of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics (MMG), University of the Punjab, Lahore. There are two core modules in this training program.
  • The Patent System of Pakistan and Patent Filing
  • Communication Skills
Forty faculty members from different departments/institutes of the University of the Punjab and from other universities are participating in this program. Addressing to the inaugural session, Dean Faculty of Life Sciences, Prof. Dr. Javed Iqbal Qazi emphasized on the need of regular faculty trainings and professional development programs at the university. He said the Punjab University is very conscious about its academic standards and research quality and always encourages and facilitates such training programs to develop the professional skills of its faculty members. He encouraged the participating faculty members from various departments and institutes of the university and from other universities and advised them to get maximum benefit from this program. He further added that such training programs are also a good opportunity for the participants from different institutes to interact with each other.
Prof. Dr. Anjum Nasim Sabri chairperson department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics (MMG) welcomed the participants at the department and in the training program. In her address she appriciated the university management and she especially thanked the worthy Vice Chancellor (Prof. Dr. Mujahid Kamran) for his ever encouraging attitude for organizing such activities and for approving funds for this activity. Dr. Imran Sajid, Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator, briefed about the objectives of the training program, he mentioned that this is the 4 th In-Service faculty training program being organized at the department of MMG, the first was organized in October, 2011, the second was organized in February, 2013, while the third was organized in Nov, 2014. The 4 th training program will continue up to Friday 25th November, 2016.
