PU VC inaugurates library, computer lab


LAHORE: (Wednesday, December 6, 2017): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Moeen Nasir has inaugurated newly renovated and upgraded library and computer lab at Centre for South Asian Studies. In this regard, a ceremony was also organized to celebrate recognition of new Research Journal of Indian Studies in “Z” category by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. PU Dean Faculty of Arts and Humanities Prof Dr Iqbal Chawla, CSAS Director Prof Dr Umbreen Javed, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, Prof Dr Zafar Moeen Nasir said that our mission was to move forward towards making PU top ranked university of the world. He said this could only be possible through quality of education and research work so that the students could go for advanced studies in foreign universities and could be recognized in the world. He said that the first step towards it was to make decisions on merit and implement rule of law. He also stated that a Ph.D. assistantship program had been in the pipeline for the help of the students. The VC also appreciated the efforts of centre and said that all these efforts could lead towards quality education. Prof Dr Umbreen Javed thanked the PU VC and Dr Iqbal Chawala for their support. She said that all this had been done using limited resources.
