PU organizes seminar on Iqbal’s Philosophy


LAHORE: (Tuesday, May 23, 2017): Punjab University Centre for Undergraduate Studies organized a seminar to promote the spirit of tolerance in the university campus on “Religious Tolerance in Iqbal’s Philosophy” at Al-Raazi Hall on Tuesday. PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zaffar Mueen Nasir, Director Centre for Undergraduate Studies Prof Dr Faheem Aftab, Prof Dr Shahida Hasnain, Prof Dr Jamil Anwar Choudhary, Prof Emeritus Dr S.R.A Shamsi, Prof Dr Zahid Munir Amir, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

In his address the Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zaffar Mueen Nasir stressed on the students to play their role for the promotion of tolerance in varsity. He expressed the progress of varsity, problems and the anticipated role to be played by its faculty and students. He lauded the efforts of Dr Zahid Munir and Centre’s administration for arranging such an important seminar. In his key-note address Dr Zahid Munir emphasized the need of understanding the importance of the youth to other religions, provinces and sects of the society. He explained Allama Iqbal’s concept of life being a contiguous struggle for betterment. He advised the students that they should try to make each new day better than the previous one, with some advancement and personal development. Director Centre Prof Dr Faheem Aftab thanked the VC, faculty members and students.
