PU ASA condemns killings of Rohingya Muslims


Lahore: (Monday, September 11, 2017): Academic Staff Association (ASA) of University of the Punjab, Lahore, in its executive council's meeting held on 11-09-2017, condemned the brutal killings of Rohingya Muslims. Acting President ASA, Dr. Shahid Ghazi presided over the meeting. Secretary ASA, Iftikhar Tarar, Vice President Arts, Dr. Sardar Asghar, Joint Secretary, Dr. Islam, Treasure, Dr. Azhar Naeem and other member executives were also present. ASA demanded that government of Pakistan and international community should play their role to stop the state sponsored genocide of Myanmar's Muslim minority. They said that ASA in its capacity would try to extend all possible support to the oppressed Muslims. They demanded that a highly powered delegation of Pakistan's foreign ministry should visit the refugees camps at Bangladesh or Myanmar. OIC should play its active role for the betterment of Rohingya Muslims and chalk out a pragmatic solution for their prompt rehabilitation. The council also demanded immediate repatriation of Myanmar's Ambassador. The Council reiterated that those who have committed atrocities should also be tried by the international court of justice.
