Another feather in PU’s cap: PU students clinch gold medal in Int’l competitions


LAHORE: (Friday, November 24, 2017): Showing outclass performance in international sports competitions, held in Malaysia, PU students have earned laurels by clinching gold, silver and bronze medals. PU students have participated in Asian Indoor Rowing Championship Malaysia 2017 and clinched gold, bronze and silver medals. MSc Sports Science student Naila Bano clinched gold medal in Open Mix Four 500X4 and bronze medal in Light Mix Four 500X4 events. Similarly, Muzammil Shahzad, student of Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology obtained silver and bronze medals in Light Path 2000X2 and Light Four Mix 500X4 respectively. Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Moeen Nasir has congratulated the students on their remarkable achievement. He said that PU administration had promoted co-curricular activities among students so that their energies could be utilized in the positive way. He said that due to administration’s special focus on promotion of sports, the university students were winning medals in international and national level competitions, thus bringing PU to limelight.
