National Sports Competitions 2017 continue in PU
Tug of war, Squash, volleyball contest held on third day
PU beat GCU in squash, UMT both in tug of war and volleyball

LAHORE (Wednesday, 13 December, 2017): The sports competitions of tug-of-war, volleyball, and squash held between universities, colleges and schools on PU greens on the third day of the National Sports Competitions - 2017 under the collaboration of HEC, Punjab University and The Educationist.

In Tug-of-War contests, Punjab University pulled out University of Management and Technology (UMT) players foots to ensure its victory while for third position Govt Gegree College Sarai Aalamghir beat Islamia College Civil Lines. In tug of war schools competitions, Govt Public High School No. 2 Gujrat defeated WAPDA High School Shalamar in a very thrilling best of three.

Squash league competitions remained very lively until the final when PU defeated GC University while UMT secured the third position.

Competitions of Volleyball held in PU sports Gymnasium and PU once again defeated UMT while for the third position Akhwan Science College Barki defeated Beaconhouse National University.

Tomorrow (on Thursday) there will be competitions of football, cricket, hockey, rowing, Kabaddi (Universities category), swimming and athletics.

The competitions of Rowing will be held in canal waters instead of machines to ensure originality in collaboration with Lahore Canal Boat Club at 3:00pm near canal bridge, Punjab University.

The swimming competitions will be held at LDA Sports Complex Johar Town at 1:00 pm tomorrow (Thursday).
