PU HCBF organizes welcome party


LAHORE: (Tuesday, April 17, 2018): Punjab University Hailey College of Banking & Finance (HCBF) has organized a Welcome Dinner in honor of the students newly enrolled in MBA (Evening) Program in the disciplines of Banking & Finance and Insurance & Risk Management.

PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zakria Zakar, Principal HCBF Prof Dr Mubbsher Munawar Khan, HKB CEO Bashir Ahmad Buksh, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion. Addressing the students, Prof. Dr. Zakria Zakar said that academic excellence could be achieved through enhanced research activities. He highlighted the potential of research in the fields of business, banking and insurance. He specifically mentioned the importance of research in the areas of risk management. He highlighted various threats to which the business world in general and financial world in particular are exposed to. He was optimistic that inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research might pave the way for the development of new strategies for risk management. Mr. Bashir Ahmad Buksh advised the students to develop entrepreneurial skills in order to enter in the progressive world of trade and business. He advised the students to be dedicated to their profession, maintain high standards of integrity and carry the flag of goodwill of their alma mater in the world of profession. He narrated his life experiences to make the students understand the importance of hard work in one’s life. Dr Mubbsher Munawar Khan stressed upon the students to utilize all available resources for enhancing their learning and keeping themselves abreast of latest developments in the profession and industry. He briefed in detail about the various grooming sessions and seminars regularly arranged by the college in this regard. He also highlighted the success of on-campus recruitment drives undertaken with the support of leading banks, financial institutions and insurance companies resulting in the increased employability of the college graduates. He reiterated his commitment to strengthening the research culture in the institution for making positive contributions to the academia and industry. The students of the outgoing class also shared their experiences with the newly admitted students and appreciated the efforts of college management in building cohesive and conducive academic environment resulting in the graduation of groomed and academically strong graduates with employment.
