Career Fair 2018 at Institute of Administrative Sciences (IAS) - University of the Punjab


The Office of Career Advisory and External Linkages (CAEL) organized IAS Annual Career Fair 2018 at Institute of Administrative Sciences (IAS) on April 17th 2018. IAS has been successfully hosting the career fairs annually, providing students an opportunity to explore various career directions with exciting job opportunities and to get to know the requirements of the industry. Today's Career Fair was precluded by a Career Advisory Forum, held a day before at IAS, where five professionals from the industry briefed students about market trends, expectations of employers from students and attitude and skill set they are looking for.
This year,   20 leading companies   from multiple industries participated in the fair. It is noteworthy to mention that these companies included few startups of IAS students and graduates. The organizations that participated at the fair included, Sarena Industries & Embroidery Mills (Pvt.) Ltd, Urban Sole , Sapphire Finishing Mills , Emirates Logistics , Careerz360, Pulse Outfits & Stonefire.pk, Schazoo Zaka Pharma, Samsons Group of Companies, BigBird Group, Allied Bank, Wilshire Labs Pvt Ltd, Migrant Resource Center (MRC), Allied Foods Tasteland, Bread & Beyond, SILK Consultants, People, Clive Shoes, Style Textile, Ready.Pk, and GharPar.
Students from undergraduate graduate and post graduate programs visited the stalls and met the HR teams from all organizations. Prof. Dr. Nasira Jabeen – Director IAS and Dean FEMS visited all the stalls alongwith Ms. Sameen Zaki – Manager Career Advisory IAS and faculty members including Mr. Muhammad Zahid, Dr. Yaamina Salman, Dr. Nighat Ansari, Dr. Amani Moazzam and administrative team; Col. Muzaffar Ali, Mr. Shahzad Ahmad Siddiqui and Ms. Rifat Umbreen Afzal. Prof. Dr. Nasira Jabeen appreciated the employers and efforts of CAEL team to make this event a big success in terms of meet and greet and networking opportunity.
Career Fair provided an excellent forum to the graduates in terms of exploring the job opportunities, jobs nature, scope and relevant requirements of the industry. While it provided the organizations with an opportunity to showcase their products and services and find the suitable talent for every industry as our public sector universities represent the real Pakistan.
The representatives of the companies provided the students with career advice and shared the requirements of the job market and availability of internships and job opportunities for graduating students, collected their CVs and conducted on spot screening for further processing. Above 400 students visited the career fair including students from all programs at IAS. Few alumni members also visited the fair and highly appreciated the efforts of IAS in bringing them closer with the student body and to the institute as well.
