Representation of Pakistan at R10 IEEE SYWL Congress 2018 in Bali, Indonesia


Muhammad Hamza Ihtisham final year student from Department of Electrical Engineering, University of the Punjab represented Pakistan and IEEE University of the Punjab at IEEE Region 10 Student/Young Professional/Women in Engineering/Life Member Congress 2018 held at Bali, Indonesia. He got this opportunity because he have so many accomplishments as IEEE Student Members. He is a winner of 2 International Award and several local accolades. He is also serving as Subcommittee chair of 2 International Conferences. He is IEEE Brand Ambassador and he serving as Executive member IEEE Lahore Section Student activities Committee and mentoring more than 30 universities of the Punjab.
The IEEE SYWL based on the theme of “ Collaborative Innovation for Society Development ”. IEEE R10 SYWL Congress is such a grand platform where students, professionals and many other people from all over the Asia and Pacific congregated under one roof and shared their accomplishments. IEEE's distinguished and vigorous volunteers talked on different themes in different sessions. Partitions of sessions on different ideas were so assembled and everything was perfectly organized. There were 4 pathways (Students, YP, WIE, and Life Member) on 1st day of Congress and other 4 pathways (Academia, Industry, Humanitarian, IEEE Activities by IEEE Technical Chapters) on the 2nd day of congress.
Muhammad Hamza gave session on IEEE ComSoc Summer School meanwhile he is the co-founder IEEE Comsoc Summer School at University of the Punjab back in 2016. It was the 1st summer school in Asia and pacific and the most unique thing of Summer School is that there were 6 International Speakers from USA State Department attended summer school as guest speaker. In that summer school Masters/Phd Scholars from all over the Pakistan came at PU as Participants
He attended the congress as the Representative of Pakistan, IEEE Lahore Section, IEEE Industrial Application Society Lahore section and IEEE Engineering in Medical and Biological Society. He chaired IEEE EMB (Asia n Pacific) Delegation meetup at Bali. After the congress Muhammad Hamza met with IEEE CEO and President 2018 Mr. James Jefferies. They discussed about how we can increase the awareness of IEEE in Pakistan. Muhammad Hamza shared the status of IEEE Punjab University Student Branch with James Jefferies. Based on his active volunteerism and having strong technical skills in his field James Jefferies awarded him with the coin of leadership commonly known as IEEE Presidential Coin.
