GIZ and ISCS hold workshop on gender based violence


LAHORE: (Sunday, December 9, 2018): The German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and Punjab University Institute of Social & Cultural Studies (ISCS) held a joint five-day training workshop in a local hotel to address the issues of gender based violence and access to justice for women and juvenile. Prof. Dr. Rubeena Zakar Director ISCS and Prof. Aisha K. Gill from University of Roehampton, UK trained the participants on how to tackle the issues of domestic violence and sensitized them on sexual politics and construction of gender roles. Dr. Rubeena delivered a series of lectures on GBV, public health, human rights and the role of stakeholders in all these issues. Dr. Rana Malik from Gender Studies Department, PU and Sevim Sadat Musawi along with some other academicians also addressed to the participants on various issues related to GBV. At the end of the workshop, Dr. Astrid Bosch from the GIZ distributed certificates among the workshop participants.
