PU CSAS organizes seminar


Prof. Dr. Umbreen Javaid, Director, Centre for South Asian Studies, University of the Punjab, Lahore organized a seminar on 18 February, 2021 (Thursday) at 11:30 a.m. on "Extremism in South Asia: Growing Hindituva in India". Dr. Fatima Sajjad, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science and International Relations, University of Management & Technology, Lahore was the guest speaker.
Dr. Fatima Sajjad, said that violent extremism is a huge challenge for the South Asian region. In contemporary times extremist ideologies like Hindituva are threatening peace of the region. She also said that violent ideologies can be counted through education that develops students’ critical thinking skills.
All the faculty members, M.Phil/Ph.D scholars of the Centre for South Asian Studies, University of the Punjab, Lahore attended the seminar that was followed by question answer session in which all the faculty members, research scholars and the students participated.
