PU HCC organizes seminar on leadership in 21st century


LAHORE: (Sunday, February 15, 2015): Punjab University Hailey College of Commerce (HCC) organized a seminar on “Leadership in 21st Century”. HCC Principal Prof Dr Hassan Mubeen Alam, LSM Director Dr Ali Sajid, Asst Professor Dr Khalid Khan, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion. In his address Dr Ali said that passion and focus were the main characteristics of a leader. He quoted leadership of Dr Mahatir Muhammad, Nelson Mandela and others passion and focus transform their societies. He said that a leader was one who was good at risk taking, thinking, doing, humble with others, have high level of tolerance and acceptability for others. Leaders have inspirational skills not manipulational skills, should think positive and communicate positivism, he added. Dr Ali advised the youth to work hard for resolving the problems of the country. He said that a leader should be empathetic not sympathetic. Dr Hassan Mobeen Alam said the there was no subject of leadership to teach in the college but the college has been produced a number of leaders including Federal Minister Finance Ishaq Dar, adviser on the foreign policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to PM Sartaj Aziz and others.
