PU organizes third annual training workshop
LAHORE: (Friday, July 06, 2012): Punjab University Department of Islamic Studies organized third annual Two-Day trainee workshop for Pakistani students studying in Saudi Universities while a large number of PU students of MPhil/PhD also participated in the event. Lectures on important current issues of the modern world were delivered during the workshop. On this occasion students were provided a platform to discuss educational ideas and problems with the students of Islamic University of Madinah, Umm al-Qura University Mecca, King Saud University Riyad and Al-Imam University Riyad. Dean and Chairman Department of Islamic Studies Prof Dr Hafiz Mahmood Akhtar, Hamid Kamal-ul-Din, Dr Mohammad Saad Sadiqui, Prof Ghali Atta, Department of Islamic Thought and Civilization UMT Chairman Prof Qari Mohammad Azmat and Jamia Lahore Al-Islamia Dr Hafiz Hassan Madni delivered research oriented lectures. The purpose of this workshop was to equip students with the knowledge of educational development and knowledge and thought of the modern era. Saudi students’ representative Abdul Rahim al-Shamsan appreciated the efforts of PU department of Islamic Studies for organizing this fruitful event and expressed hope that such events will be held in future. |
