ONE DAY SEMINAR AT CENTRE FOR SOUTH ASIAN STUDIES (CSAS)


Lahore February 01, 2010: Centre for South Asian Studies (CSAS), University of the Punjab, Lahore on Monday organized a seminar on “Pak-India Relations in the Changing Scenario”. Mr. Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Former Senator & Chairman, Foreign Relations Committee of the Senate was the keynote speaker. He said that in the changing global scenario, Pakistan has got a window of opportunity and Pakistan must avail it. Its role can never be set aside in maintaining the regional peace and stability. He said that it is the need of the hour that India should come out of its prejudice mind and heart. We should have dialogue with each other & for that the scholars, writers and media can play a positive role. He further said that we should try to resolve the water issue at priority. He also talked about resolving the Kashmir Issue. The programme was followed by question-answer session.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, Director Centre for South Asian Studies also spoke to the occasion. Prof. Dr. Mujahid Kamran, Vice-Chancellor University of the Punjab, Lahore said the students should develop a habit of book reading and it will surely help in broadening their views. A great number of University teachers, students & M.Phil and Ph.D scholars of various disciplines attended the seminar.
