LAHORE : (Wednesday, February 03, 2010): Punjab University Hailey College of Commerce (HCC) student Hasnain Javed and College of Art & Design student Toheed Ans has bagged first and fourth positions respectively in the Punjabi Mahiya Singing Competition. The contest was organized by Masood Khaddarposh Trust on January 30.
Moreover, PU team has clinched Runner-Up position in the Urdu Style Parliamentary Debate Championship organized by Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore from January 30 to February 1. PU Institute of Administrative Sciences student Fahad Ali Kazmi won the Best Urdu Speaker award in the Championship. The PU team comprised of Tauseef Sabih of Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) and Salman Butt of Institute of Quality & Technology Management (IQTM). The other participating teams included Government College University Lahore, Aitheson College Lahore, Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore, Lahore School of Economics, University of Engineering & Technology Lahore, Lahore Grammar School etc.

Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has congratulated the students and heads of their departments on their achievements.
