LAHORE : (August 7): Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran planted a tree in University Botanical Garden in connection with Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign with a target of 5000 trees.

Tree Plantation Committee Chairperson Dr Najma Najam, Botany Department Chairman Dr Khan Rass Masood, Resident Officer Malik Muhammad Zaheer, Principal IT College Dr Mansoor Sarwar, Registrar Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan, Dr Shahida Hasnain, Dr Iftikhar Hussain Baloch, Controller of Examinations Prof Zahid Karim Khan, Additional Treasurer Sharif Rao, faculty members of Botany department and staff members of Botanical Garden were also present on the occasion.
Before Dua, VC Dr Mujahid Kamran recited a poem of late Majeed Amjad and said that if we can appreciate and share the feelings of the poet regarding the beauty and importance of trees, we can fulfill our duties towards the care and development of trees.
On this occasion, Resident Officer-II Malik Zaheer told that until now around 3000 new trees have been planted during the campaign and the target of 5000 trees will be achieved by 10th of September. |
