LAHORE : (Tuesday, January 12, 2010): Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran presided over a meeting of PhD scholars of Faculty of Education to take their inputs regarding their problems at New Campus on Tuesday. PhD scholars pointed out some problems and the vice-chancellor took immediate notice/action in some cases and for some other problems he directed to present them in the meeting of Advanced Studies & Research Board (AS&RB) for discussion. However, generally the vice-chancellor and PhD scholars showed their satisfaction. They appreciated the vice-chancellor's special efforts for the solution of their problems.

Earlier, the vice-chancellor presented a comparative study report about the ratio of PhD faculty, students in different varsities of the world and also academic and research budget of the advanced countries. It is noteworthy that a PhD promotion programme has been continued in the PU and meetings for the solution of PhD students' problems are a part of this programme. Under the same programme, PU VC earlier called meetings of non-PhD teachers of all the faculties and urged them to take admission in PhD and offered his all-out cooperation in this regard.
