Students urged to achieve intellectual and academic excellence for successfully facing challenges of life


LAHORE : (Saturday, January 23, 2010): Prof Dr Muhammad Ehsan Malik Director Institute of Business Administration has urged upon the student community to work hard for acquiring the maximum possible knowledge in order to achieve intellectual and academic excellence and to successfully face the challenges of life.

He was speaking as chief guest at a graduation ceremony of BBA and welcome party of BBA and MBA 2009 held in the lawn of the Institute at New Campus, Punjab University , here on Saturday. Additional Registrar Prof Aurangzeb and IBIT Director Dr Mansoor Sarwar were also present.

Dr Ehsan Malik said the purpose of education is not only to impart knowledge to the students but also to groom them into good human beings and responsible citizens. He said Pakistan was passing through a critical juncture at present and the need for unity and brotherhood was never great as it is today. He said due to generous provision of funds by the University Vice-Chancellor and voluntary donations from philanthropists and public-spirited persons, he was able to transform the IBA into a centre of excellence. He said the Institute was proud of its students who had shown remarkable results and had been offered job opportunities in national and multi-national companies as well as business and finance institutions on preferential basis.

Earlier, the Director gave away trophies, souvenirs and commendatory certificates to the students who had given extra-ordinary performance in both academic and extra-curricular activities. The students also made speeches and paid rich tributes to the Director of IBA for his untiring efforts to raise the professional quality and standard of the Institute. A number of skits were also presents by the IBA students which were greatly appreciated by the audience.
