LAHORE : (Wednesday, January 27, 2010): The Punjab University Administration has directed its employees not to participate in any function/event organized by the unelected representatives of Administrative & Technical Staff Association which is allegedly involved in unauthorized political as well as group activities without its permission.
In a circular letter, addressed to all the Deans of faculties, Directors/College Principals and Heads of Non-Teaching Departments, the Administration has observed that the head of the said self-styled Association, Mr Ghulam Abbas Lodhi in collaboration with Mr Shakeel Ahmad Mirza have established the Association illegally and unlawfully, because the University Administration does not recognize any such group as lawful representative body of the Punjab University Administrative & Technical Staff nor Mr. Ghulam Abbas Lodhi is eligible/qualified to head any such Association against whom disciplinary proceedings are already in progress under the Punjab University Employees Efficiency and Discipline Statutes 1975 on charges of indisciline, misconduct, conduct unbecoming of a gentleman including his failure to obtain his required degree and obtaining a so-called MBA from non-accredited degree awarding University of Ireland, wasting the study leave and government funds.
