Approximately over 1,200 students apply to the Department of English Language & Literature to be considered for the M.A. Programme. Of these, as per University Rules, a percentage are selected on the basis of merit, and some on the basis of the Self Finance Scheme. This deprives a large number of young people of the opportunity of joining the M.A. Programme of a University, which continues to be the highest seat of learning in the province. In the above context, in consultation with the Faculty, it was considered imperative that the department now offer a replica M.A. Programme. Since the English Department possesses a highly qualified and experienced Regular and Visiting Faculty, we can say with confidence that our department will be able to maintain a high standard of quality post-graduate education.

Eligibility & Distribution of Seats:
19 seats will be offered to those who passed the B.A. Examination with English Literature.
19 seats will be offered to those candidates who passed B.A. Examination with English Language.
