The Department offers a comprehensive Postgraduate Diploma in English Language Teaching. The basic academic qualification for admission is an M.A. in English. This is an afternoon programme run for college/school teachers as well as for those graduates who intend to take up teaching as a profession. The programme aims at helping English teachers acquire the competence needed for a change of approach from the current outmoded teaching practices to modern approaches to the teaching of English.

b. Fresh MAs intending to take up teaching as a profession.
DURATION OF THE COURSE
The ELT Diploma Course is a one - year afternoon program with classes held thrice a week. The timings of the classes are 3-5 p.m. on the specified days. Classes begin in January every year.
