The Ph.D. program prepares students for careers in research, consultation, university level teaching and policy making. It provides advanced training in theory, research techniques and creative problem solving in the field of Management. Several areas of specialization are offered in the Ph.D. program such as, Human Resource Management, Public Sector Management, Development Management, Human Resource Development, Gender in Management, Total Quality Management, and Health Management and Information systems. The Ph.D. Program is in line with the University's new rules for doctoral studies. In accordance with these rules, a student admitted to Ph.D. shall take 72 credits, which will include 24 credits for course work, and 48 credits of research. After completing the course work a doctoral student shall be required to pass a comprehensive examination (written and oral) before undertaking the thesis work. After passing the comprehensive examination, but before the submission of his/her thesis, a student will give one seminar on a topic relevant to his/her field of research. The course work of 24 credit hours will consist of 5 core courses and one course from a field of specialization. The courses are designed in a seminar format. Each course will be of 4 credit hours.
