Prof. Dr. Zahid Munir Amir is a well-known poet, researcher, critic, media expert, and classical literary text editor. He has received several gold medals and awards on account of excellent academic achievements. Dr. Zahid has the honor of being founder and first Director/Chairperson of Institute of Urdu Language & Literature, Zafar Ali Khan Chair (Institute of Communication Studies) and Dr. Jamil Jalibi Chair in the University of the Punjab and has participated in 230 national/international conferences, seminars and workshops. He has visited, presented research papers and delivered lectures in Japan, Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, Syria, Mauritius, Lebanon, Iran etc. He has worked as Professor/Head Urdu & Pakistan Studies Chair at Al-Azhar University Cairo, Egypt. Moreover, he also served at different times as the Chairman Urdu Department ، Principal University Oriental College and Director Urdu Development & Translation Centre, etc. Author of 60 books on a variety of subjects including literature, history, religion, Iqbal studies and travelogues, published in Urdu Arabic Persian and English. There are over 830 research papers, articles and essays to his credit His poetical works have been translated into Persian, Arabic, French, English, Japanese and Punjabi. H has delivered over 500 lectures on various T.V Channels. He has supervised about 100 dissertations of Ph D, M Phil and Masters. Presently he is working as Chairperson Urdu & Pakistan Studies Chair at University of Tehran Iran.
