Professional Experience

 

March 2001 : Thesis Supervisor for M.A. TEFL students at the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU)

June 2001: Conducted a week-long workshop on teaching Reading and Writing Skills to the staff of The Laboratory School run by the IER, University of the Punjab

March 2001: Attended a three day workshop on Drama in Education conducted by the British Council at the Kinnaird College for Women, Lahore

Nov 1999: Developed and wrote material for English Language Reader Series published by Ferozesons Publishers.

March 1999: Presented a paper on the poetry of Eavan Boland at the Post Colonial Literature Conference held at the University of the Punjab English Department

1994-97: As Academic Coordinator for SPELT (Society of Pakistan English Language Teachers) I conducted teacher training workshops, attended ELT seminars and assisted in organizing the SPELT annual conferences. I am a permanent member of the SPELT Working Committee (Lahore Chapter)

1996: Recruited as one of a team of teachers to train a group of Government Primary School Teachers as part of the Punjab Middle School Project undertaken by the Directorate of Staff Development and funded by the British Council.

February - March 1994: Selected as one of a group of seven English Language Teachers from Pakistan sponsored by the USIA to undertake a month long study tour of the U.S. This tour provided the opportunity to observe educational institutions across the country especially those offering programmes in ELT.
