The Hindi Department had been established decades ago at the University Oriental College, however, it remained in passive existence until 1983 when the Certificate/Diploma classes were started. The course contents for launching of programs at the Degree and Post-Graduate levels have been designed and approved through various regulatory bodies of the University which are to commence effectively from the session of 2002-3.A language proficiency program has been designed which will be based primarily on the spoken form of the language. This will help the participants in being more proficient and it is proposed to be run for a duration of three months at regular intervals.
