Research and Publication
Faculty and students of the Centre are engaged in conducting quality research related to the field of Clinical Psychology. The faculty members are actively involved in research supervision, presenting their research work at national and international platforms and publish their work in journals of international repute. A wide range of research has been conducted on topics include causes and factors of Psychopathology in Pakistan; and efficacy of different Therapeutic Interventions in the context of Pakistani culture. Moreover, development of Indigenous Assessment Tools, Translation and Adaptation of the Assessment tools and Norm Development is also a major area of research in the Centre. Research is part of all academic and training programs and students are provided with individualized research supervision. Centre has published its first issue of “Psychological Abstracts” of the researches conducted by the students and faculty members and it has also been uploaded on the University website. This would enable and facilitate researchers both at home and abroad to have an access to research done at the Centre for Clinical Psychology.
Journal of the Centre
Centre for Clinical Psychology published its official journal “Pakistan Journal of Professional Psychology; Research and Practice” and its second issue is under the process of printing. Research articles from different specializations in Psychology and Allied disciplines covering all aspects of human behavior are encouraged. Although original articles based on empirical data are preferred, brief reports, review articles and single case studies are also considered for publication in the PJPPRP.
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
An Overview
Research courses are taught at both undergraduate and graduate level. Individual research projects are essential requirement for students of masters and doctorate level and undergraduate students. Research supervisors are assigned to every student undergoing their research project at masters and doctorate level. 18 research theses are completed and added to library during this year by the MS students and 29 by BS (Hons.) students.
