Vision, Mission, PEOs, and PLOs

Vision | |
The principal vision of the School of Physical Sciences includes continuous improvement of the quality of scientific research, the development of innovative curricula and techniques based on research and the latest scientific developments. Ahead, recognition of the institution and greater international visibility as well as the increasing impact on the development of the economy and society as a whole are foreseen. Taking into account the recent restructuring of the school, a special emphasis will be put on the academia-industry collaboration. |
|
Mission | |
The School of Physical Sciences offers two main research-based degrees i.e. M.Phil/Ph.D. in Industrial Chemistry and Optics and Photonics, which lie at the core of scientific and technical disciplines. The school has a two-fold mission to provide students a wide range of outstanding learning experience by gaining which they could develop strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills, and to foster cutting-edge research that expands the horizons of science and technology. SPS aims at engaging the students and serving the society through excellence in teaching, high-quality research, and dedicated outreach. |
|
Aims and objectives | |
Following are the main aims and objectives of our School: |
|
- |
Providing students with rigorous and comprehensive courses that allow them to perform at national as well as international level |
- |
Fostering curiosity and excitement about the physical world |
- |
Maintaining a research environment, in which key scientific and technical innovations are put forward |
- |
Providing Master’s students research experience, through which they contribute to the scientific enterprise |
- |
Maintaining healthy level of external research funds allowing the school to provide financial support for Ph.D. students during their thesis and prepare them to academic, research, and industrial careers |
- |
Having faculty bring exciting and current research perspectives to the classroom |
- |
Providing Master’s program, which help students to expand their career goals, and a Ph.D. program that would prepare students for rewarding employment in Industrial Chemistry and Optics and Photonics-oriented industries |
- |
Providing service and outreach activities to the society |
