Asian Sociological Review is a double-blind peer-reviewed, biannual research journal published by the Institute of Social and Cultural Studies, University of the Punjab, Lahore. The journal is dedicated to promoting high-quality research in the field of sociology and its related disciplines. It provides an inclusive platform for academics, researchers, policy analysts, and students to engage in scholarly discourse and contribute to the understanding of social, cultural, and developmental issues from local, national, and global perspectives.

The journal welcomes original research articles, theoretical papers, review articles, book reviews, and case studies that contribute to advancing knowledge in the field of social and cultural studies.

  1. Plagiarism Policy

Asian Sociological Review maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy against plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts will be screened using Turnitin plagiarism detection software. Any manuscript found to contain plagiarized content—either directly copied or inadequately paraphrased—will be rejected outright. Authors are responsible for ensuring originality and proper citation of sources. In line with HEC policy, manuscripts must have a similarity index of less than 19%, with no single source exceeding 5%.

  1. AI Policy

Asian Sociological Review acknowledges the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in academic research. However, currently the use of AI tools for content creation in any form is strictly prohibited. Asian Sociological Review maintains zero tolerance for AI-generated content. Authors must ensure that all submitted work is the product of their own intellectual effort. Any article found to be substantially or fully generated using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT or similar platforms) will be rejected and may lead to a ban on future submissions.

  1. Review Policy

The journal adopts a double-blind peer review system to ensure impartiality and academic rigor. Each submission will be reviewed by at least two experts in the relevant field. Reviewers will evaluate manuscripts based on originality, methodology, significance, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope. The average review time is six to eight weeks. The editorial board reserves the right to make the final decision on publication based on the reviewers’ feedback.

  1. Publishing Policy
  • Asian Sociological Review will be published biannually (June and December).
  • All accepted manuscripts will undergo a final editorial review before publication.
  • The journal does not charge submission or publication fees (open-access, no APC).
  • Authors will retain copyright of their published articles, while the journal will hold the right to distribute and index them.
  • The journal will be available both in print and online formats and will strive for indexing in national and international databases.
  • Ethical considerations as per COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) will be strictly followed.
