Aim and Scope
Majallah Al-Qism Al-Arabi is a peer-reviewed, open-access biannual research journal published regularly since 1995 by the Department of Arabic, University of the Punjab, Quaid-e-Azam Campus, Lahore, Pakistan. The journal is committed to promoting high-quality scholarly research in the diverse fields of Arabic Language, Literature, Linguistics and Translation Studies. It serves as an international academic platform for researchers, scholars, and practitioners to disseminate original research that contributes to the advancement of Arabic studies.
The journal welcomes original, unpublished, and innovative research articles, review papers, and critical studies that address contemporary and classical issues in Arabic language and literature. All submissions undergo a rigorous blind peer-review process to ensure academic integrity, originality, and scholarly excellence.
The views and opinions expressed in the published articles are solely those of the respective authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Editorial Board or the Department of Arabic, University of the Punjab.
Scope and Mission
The mission of Majallah Al-Qism Al-Arabi is to advance research and scholarship in Arabic studies by providing a credible academic forum for the publication of high-quality research. Submission Preparation Checklist
Before submitting a manuscript to Majallah Al-Qism Al-Arabi, authors are required to ensure that their submission complies with the following requirements. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to the authors for revision prior to the peer-review process.
- The manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration by any other journal. If an exception applies, a clear explanation must be provided in the Comments to the Editor.
- The manuscript has been prepared in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) or Rich Text Format (RTF).
- All references have been accurately cited, and, where available, DOIs or URLs have been included.
- The manuscript is formatted according to the journal's Author Guidelines, including font style, font size, spacing, headings, citations, and reference style.
- Tables, figures, illustrations, and charts are embedded within the text at their appropriate locations and are accompanied by clear captions.
- All quotations, transliterations, and Arabic texts have been verified for accuracy.
- The manuscript complies with the journal's Plagiarism Policy and the plagiarism similarity index is within the limits prescribed by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
- The manuscript includes the title, abstract, keywords, author affiliation(s), and all other required submission information.
- Where applicable, ethical approval, funding information, acknowledgements, and conflict of interest declarations have been provided.
- The corresponding author confirms that all co-authors have read, approved, and agreed to the submission of the manuscript.
Privacy Statement

Majallah Al-Qism Al-Arabi does not charge any submission, processing, or publication fee. Authors are not required to pay any fee at any stage of the submission, peer-review, editorial, or publication process.

Majallah Al-Qism Al-Arabi is sponsored and financially supported by the University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. The journal is published under the auspices of the Department of Arabic, University of the Punjab, which provides institutional, administrative, and academic support for its publication and continuous development.
The sponsoring institution has no influence on editorial decisions. All submitted manuscripts are evaluated solely on the basis of academic merit, originality, and relevance to the journal's scope through a rigorous Blind peer-review process. 1. Introduction
Majallah Al-Qism Al-Arabi is a peer-reviewed, open-access biannual research journal published by the Department of Arabic, University of the Punjab, Quaid-e-Azam Campus, Lahore, Pakistan. Since its establishment in 1995, the journal has been committed to publishing high-quality, original, and innovative research in the fields of Arabic Language, Arabic Literature, Linguistics and Translation Studies. The journal serves as an international platform for scholars, researchers, and academics to disseminate research that contributes to the advancement of Arabic studies.
2. Aim and Scope
The journal welcomes original research articles, review papers, and critical studies in, but not limited to, the following areas:

3. Editorial Policy
The journal maintains the highest standards of academic quality, integrity, and transparency.
- Only original and unpublished manuscripts are considered.
- Manuscripts must not be under consideration by another journal.
- Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, originality, methodological soundness, and relevance to the journal's scope.
- The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject, edit, or request revisions to any manuscript.
- Minor editorial changes may be made to improve clarity, grammar, and formatting without altering the scholarly content.
4. Peer Review Policy
All submissions undergo a rigorous Blind peer-review process.
- The identities of authors and reviewers remain confidential.
- Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent expert reviewers.
- Reviewers assess originality, significance, methodology, language quality, references, and contribution to the field.
- Based on reviewers' recommendations, manuscripts may be:
- Accepted
- Accepted with Minor Revisions
- Accepted with Major Revisions
- Rejected
- The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision.
5. Publication Ethics
The journal strictly follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the ethical guidelines of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
All participants in the publication process—including authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers—are expected to uphold honesty, transparency, fairness, confidentiality, and academic integrity.
6. Originality and Plagiarism Policy
The journal adopts a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism.
- Every manuscript is screened using recognized plagiarism detection software.
- The similarity index must comply with current HEC plagiarism regulations.
- Any form of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, or duplicate publication will result in rejection.
- Authors are solely responsible for ensuring the originality of their work.
7. Authorship Policy
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial scholarly contributions to the research.
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that:
- all listed authors have approved the final manuscript;
- no deserving contributor has been omitted;
- all authors agree to the manuscript's submission.
Changes in authorship after submission require written consent from all authors.
8. Conflict of Interest Policy
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence their judgment.
Individuals with conflicts of interest must recuse themselves from the editorial or review process whenever appropriate.
9. Confidentiality
All submitted manuscripts and reviewer reports are treated as confidential documents.
Editors and reviewers shall not disclose, reproduce, or use unpublished material without the written consent of the author.
10. Open Access Policy
Majallah Al-Qism Al-Arabi follows an Open Access publishing model.
All published articles are freely accessible online immediately after publication, promoting the widest possible dissemination of scholarly research and encouraging international academic collaboration.
11. Copyright Policy
Authors retain the copyright of their published work.
Upon acceptance, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish, archive, and disseminate their articles in print and electronic formats.
Published articles are distributed under the journal's selected Creative Commons License, as displayed on the journal website.
12. Digital Archiving Policy
