Ethical Consideration of the Journal

The Journal of Elementary Education follows strict ethical guidelines for the editors, reviewers, authors and publishers. The Journal of Elementary Education follows to the approved ethical guidelines as prescribed by HEC.

1. Manuscript written in English should be submitted to the Journal of Elementary Education through E.portal: http://111.68.103.26/journals/index.php/jee/

"Manuscripts must have an abstract of 200-250 words. It should be typed on 8.27/ 11.69" white paper, upper and lower case; line spaced should be 1.15 in entire document, with margins of 1.88" on top and bottom; 1.38" on left and 1.39" on right side. Header and footer should be 1.49" from the edges. The text size should be 11 for running text and 11-13 point for headings. Subheads should be at reasonable intervals to break the monotony of lengthy text. Words to be set in italics, not underlined. Abbreviations and acronyms should be spelled out at first mention unless they are well known to the readers (e.g., IQ needs no explanation)".

3. Pages should be numbered consecutively, beginning with the page after the title page. Mathematical symbols and Greek letters should be clearly marked to indicate italics, boldface, superscript, and subscript.


Author Identification 

4. The complete title of the article and abstract should be given on the first page of the document. The name of the author(s) should not be mentioned on the first page neither on the subsequent pages of the main document to ensure anonymity in the review process. Information in text or references that would identify the author should be deleted from the manuscript (e.g. text citations of "my previous work", especially when accompanied by a self-citation; a preponderance of the author's own work in the reference list). These may be reinserted in the final draft. The author or the co-author who will be handling the correspondence with the editor, should submit a complete address and telephone number, fax numbers and e-mail addresses are also helpful.

5. The contributors are advised to follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6th ed., for referencing. The accuracy and completeness of all references are the responsibility of the author(s). A reference list should contain only those references that are cited in the text.

 
6. References notes referring to material that is not readily available to the public (e.g. reports of limited circulation, unpublished works, personal communications, papers presented at meetings, some technical reports, and works in progress) should include as much information as possible to make them retrievable.

 


Tables, Figures, and Illustrations

7. The purpose of tables and figures is to present data to the reader in a clear and unambiguous manner. The author should not describe the data in the text in such detail that illustration or text is redundant. Figures and tables should be keyed to the text on its appropriate place. Tables and figures should be formatted according to APA edition six

 


Review Process

8. After a preliminary editorial review, articles will be sent to referees who have expertise in the subject of the article for blind review. Authors/contributors will be informed about comments of the referees and will be required to revise the article accordingly, if required.

 


Originality of Manuscript
 

9. Manuscripts are accepted for consideration with the understanding that they are original material and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
 
10. HEC policy will be followed for plagiarism.

Responsibility of Published Work
    The authors are the sole responsible not only for their point of view reflected in research/papers but also for any type of plagiarism in their paper published in the JEE. It does not necessarily reflect opinion/policy of the Department/Institute.

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

 

1. Publication and Authorship:
JEE accepts manuscripts with list of references written according to APA, mentioning financial support if any, declaration of no plagiarism and no fraudulent data, and statement that the work under consideration is neither published previously nor same research is under process of publication in any other journal.

2. Author's Responsibilities:

Author(s) are obliged to participate in peer review process. All authors have significantly contributed to the research and furnish a statement that all data in article are real and authentic. Author(s) are obliged to provide retractions or corrections of mistakes.

3. Peer review / Responsibility for the Reviewers:

All papers under consideration are processed for blind peer review. The worthy reviewers are asked to make objective judgments. All reviewers should have no conflict of interest with respect to the research, the authors and/or the research funders, reviewers have to point out relevant published work which is not yet cited, reviewed articles are treated with a sound sense of confidentially.

4. Editorial Responsibilities:
Editors have complete responsibility and authority to reject/accept an article. They should have no conflict of interest with respect to articles they reject/accept. Only papers are processed/ published when reasonably certain review reports are received, when found errors are removed/ corrected, promote publication of correction or retraction, and preserve anonymity of reviewers.

 

Copyright and Permission

   No written or oral permission is necessary to reproduce a table, a figure, or an excerpt of fewer than 500 words from this journal, or to make photocopies for classroom use. Authors are granted permission, without fee, to photocopy their own material. Copies must include a full and accurate bibliographic citation and the following credit line; "Copyright by the Department of Elementary Education, Institute of Education and Research, University of the Punjab Lahore- Pakistan; reproduced with the permission from the publisher". Written permission must be obtained to reproduce or reprint material in circumstances other than those just described.
