Introduction – About Us

The Department of Secondary Education, Institute of Education & Research (IER), University of the Punjab, Lahore publishes a research journal entitled “Journal of Secondary Education and Research- JSER”  formerly known as Secondary Education Journal (SEJ) was 1st published in 2012 and the frequency of publication was annual. Later in 2018 it was renamed as Journal of Secondary Education and Research (JSER). JSER is published annually. Its ISSN is 3005-3293 (print), 2960-0065 (online). This journal is a double- blind refereed scholarly journal, committed to consider original and unpublished scholarly critiques, theoretical, conceptual and research articles that contribute to the understanding of issues and problems in the field of Education and other related disciplines in order to promote a debate and dialogue among them. 

Scope and Aim

The primary aim of this journal is to motivate, encourage and ultimately coordinate research in all areas of education. Besides,   it also intends to promote excellence by providing a venue for academicians, teachers, Practitioners, researchers, Policymakers, and students to publish significant empirical and conceptual research works to promote research activities globally. JSER accepts qualitative and quantitative research papers, critical essays writings, thesis abstracts, book reviews, and other opinion pieces-related to the field of Education and the allied disciplines from throughout the world. In the pursuit of this objective, we encourage empirical, theoretical and methodological research papers which can contribute to the advancement of research studies in the field of Education.

Audience:

The journal aims to reach a global audience of educational researchers, teachers, Prospective teachers, Practitioners, Policymakers, students in associated fields (Sociology, Social Anthropology, Economics, Psychology, Philosophy, etc.) who have an international perspective in education.

Ethical Considerations:

The publication of an article in a peer reviewed journal is an essential building block in the development of a coherent network of knowledge. It is therefore essentially significant to agree upon standards of ethical behaviors.

All authors must disclose any financial and personal relationships with other people or organizations that could inappropriately influence/ bias their work. Ideas and views expressed in papers published in the journal are the sole responsibility of authors. It does not necessarily reflect opinion / policy of the institution or Editorial Advisory Board.

b) Submission Declaration:

Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis or as an preprint), that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, that its publication is approved by all authors and tacitly or explicitly by the responsible authorities where the work was carried out, and that, if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere including electronically in the same form, in English or any other language, without the written consent of the copyright-holder.
