PU ORIC organizes seminar on intellectual property rights
LAHORE: (Tuesday, August 29, 2023): Punjab University Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) has organized seminar on ‘Intellectual Property and Patent Essentials: Basic and Legal Aspects for University Teachers’ in the Department of Botany’s auditorium. On this occasion, PU VC Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood, Director ORIC Prof Dr Shakil Ahmad, Saad Nasrullah and faculty members were present. In his address, Dr Khalid Mahmood expressed his utmost satisfaction with the seminar, emphasizing the quality and importance of the event. He said that the knowledge and insights gained from this event will undoubtedly empower the faculty members to protect their intellectual capital and contribute to the advancement of research and innovation within the institution. He also highlighted the role of ORIC in facilitating preservation of intellectual property rights of university faculty.
Dr Shakil Ahmad said that ORIC was committed to continuing its efforts in providing educational opportunities that empower faculty members and drive innovation within the academic community. He said that the seminar brought together esteemed faculty members from various disciplines to enhance their understanding of intellectual property rights and legal aspects pertaining to patents.
