Dr. Muhammad Hassan Khan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Siegen, Germany. Dr. Khan’s research focuses on human activity analysis, biometrics, and surveillance using multimodal time-series sensory data. He has made significant contributions in the areas of sensory data analysis, information fusion, and efficient representation of multimodal data. He is the author of a book on human activity analysis for healthcare and visual surveillance and has published more than 50 research articles in leading computing journals and prestigious international conference proceedings.
With over 18 years of teaching and research experience at institutions in Pakistan, Germany, and Poland, Dr. Khan has also actively served the academic community as a reviewer for reputed journals and a member of the Technical Program Committees of several international conferences. He has successfully secured multiple national and international research grants, including the highly competitive HEC NRPU grant exceeding PKR 14 million. He has also collaborated with European industry partners in two international projects funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi), where he developed innovative solutions using state-of-the-art pattern recognition algorithms. In addition to his research and teaching, Dr. Khan has led the automation of university systems, developing and deploying a comprehensive ERP system to meet both academic and administrative needs of the University.
