Introduction
Dr. Mahmood Saleem has been working as professor of chemical engineering since 2008. He graduated as Chemical Engineer in 1991 from the Institute of Chemical Engineering, University of the Punjab. He started professional career with Dawood Hercules (Pvt.) Ltd. Soon he joined the Institute of Chemical Engineering as Research Officer in November 1992. In 1994, he was selected as Lecturer. He did his Master in Chemical Engineering from the same university in 1999. He was selected as Assistant Professor in 2000.He accepted an offer in Middle East (Bahrain) and went abroad in the same year. He was selected in the first batch to go abroad for Doctoral studies in Chemical Engineering on 4 years scholarship when Higher Education Commission started human resource development programms. He completed his Doctoral studies in 3 and half years and returned home in 2007.
Dr. Mahmood is actively engaged in R&D activities. He has been organizing annual symposium on engineering sciences since 2008 at ICET. His research interests include Gas Cleaning, Process development, Gas-Solid reacting systems and Filtration and separation systems. Currently he is running HEC sponsored research project on Co-Combustion of coal and waste in CFBC.Couple of other projects are in the pipeline. One of which is production of diesel through Fast Pyrolysis of agricultural waste. A phD student had already enrolled. HEC is expected to be the sponsoring agency for this project.
He is HEC approved supervisor and looking for PhD students.
