Dr. ABDUL REHMAN KHAN NIAZI is working as Associate Professor of Botany in Institute of Botany since 2009. He completed his Ph.D. from Department of Botany, University of the Punjab, Lahore in 2008. His area of interest/specialization is Biodiversity and systematics of fungi/ Plants and fungal biotechnology. During this tenure, He remained involve in teaching and research. Dr. Niazi has published about 75 research papers in the scientific journal of National and International repute mostly with impact Factor/HEC recognized. He has more than 50 Impact Factor in his credit. He has completed 06 research projects funded by University of the Punjab, Lahore. A number of research students of Ph.D, MS/ MPhil, MSc/BS have been working as well as completed their theses under his supervision. He has also been teaching different courses like Plant Taxonomy, Mushroom Cultivation, Ectomycorrhizal biotechnology, Mycosociology at Ph.D, MSc and BS level. He is also the co-author of more than 10 new fungal taxa in the world of science and participated/attended many international/national conferences/workshops and symposia. He is an active member of different scientific learned societies like Mycological Society of America, Botanical Society of Pakistan, Botanical Society of America and Society of Herbarium curators etc. Dr. Niazi is on the reviewers pannel of different international journals like Mycotaxon, America as well as the external examiner of Ph.D., M.Phil/MS and BS theses at different universities.
