Dr. Abida Nasreen is an Associate Professor and Chairperson of the Department of Secondary Education at the Institute of Education and Research (IER), University of the Punjab, Lahore. With a strong academic record and extensive experience in teaching, research, academic leadership, and educational administration, she has made significant contributions to the field of teacher education and educational development. Dr. Abida holds a PhD in Educational Management and has a distinguished academic career spanning teaching, research supervision, curriculum development, and institutional leadership. Alongside her teaching responsibilities and supervision of students' research theses, she has undertaken a wide range of academic and administrative responsibilities, demonstrating strong leadership, organizational, and managerial expertise.
Her research experience includes participation as a team member in national and international research projects supported by prestigious organizations. Her scholarly contributions include numerous research articles published in reputable national and international journals. She has also actively participated in a wide range of national and international conferences, workshops, training programmes, and academic seminars, contributing to the exchange of knowledge and professional development in education.
As part of her international academic engagement, Dr. Abida completed a post-doctoral research project at the University of Sydney, New South Wales (NSW), Australia. Her international expertise has also been recognized through her appointment as an Expert Advisor for international educational development programmes in Malaysia, reflecting her broader contribution to educational planning, development, and professional practice beyond Pakistan.
Dr. Abida has a strong record of academic and scholarly leadership. She serves as the Executive Editor of the Journal of Secondary Education and Research (JSER) and contributes to the academic community as a reviewer for numerous national and international research journals. Her involvement in scholarly publishing demonstrates her commitment to maintaining academic quality, research integrity, and the advancement of educational knowledge.
Currently, Dr. Abida is actively engaged in supervising MPhil and PhD scholars, guiding them in the conceptualization, design, implementation, and completion of their research projects. She also serves as an external evaluator of MPhil and PhD theses for universities, contributing her expertise to the assessment and quality assurance of postgraduate research.
