Dr. Muhammad Nasar-u-Minallah is an ambitious, energetic, renowned, and well-established scholar of Geography in both Pakistan and abroad. He completed his post-doctorate fellowship at the Institute of Geography, Department of Urban Landscape Ecology, Humboldt University of Berlin-Germany in 2022. His post-doctorate was funded by the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) and was completed under the able supervision of Prof. Dr. Dagmar Haase. Previously, he completed his PhD Geography from the Department (now Institute) of Geography, University of the Punjab, Lahore. He was awarded an MPhil Geography degree by the Department of Geography, GC University Faisalabad. He did his MSc in Geography from the Department (now Institute) of Geography, University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan.
He has over 16 years of teaching and research experience in both Degree and Postgraduate classes. Dr. Muhammad Nasar-u-Minallah started his career as a Lecturer in Geography and Assistant Professor of Geography at the Department of Geography, Govt. Postgraduate College Gojra, and the Higher Education Department (HED) Government of Punjab. He is the former Head of the Department of Geography, Govt. Postgraduate College Gojra Pakistan. He joined the Institute of Geography, University of the Punjab Lahore as an Associate Professor of Geography. He was elected as joint Secretary of the Pakistan Geographical Association in 2021 and is currently a member of various academic bodies both in and outside Pakistan. Dr. Muhammad Nasar-u-Minallah is the author of more than 80 research papers, published in several national and international HEC-recognized/Impact factor journals. He has also contributed to four Geography books published in Pakistan. He has attended several national and international workshops, seminars, and conferences, both as a participant and presenter of various research papers.
In addition to supervising many Masters and MPhil theses, he is also the managing editor of the well-known scholarly journal, Pakistan Geographical Review (PGR). He is also a member of the editorial boards of the international and national journals: Journal of Ecology & Natural Resources, Journal of Biodiversity and Environmental Sciences (JBES), International Journal of Earth Science Knowledge and Applications (IJESKA), Eco-Cities, International Journal of Economic and Environmental Geology. Additionally, he is an active reviewer of international and national journals like; Geo-spatial Information Science by Taylor & Francis, Environmental Science and Pollution Research by Springer, Geocarto International by Taylor & Francis, Indonesian Journal of Geography, International Journal of Research in Environmental Studies, GIScience & Remote Sensing by Taylor & Francis, Remote Sensing by MDPI, Land by MDPI, sustainability by MDPI Atmosphere by MDPI, Meteorology by MDPI, Agricultural by MDPI, Pakistan Journal of Scientific & Industrial Research, and International Journal of Economic and Environmental Geology.
Dr. Muhammad Nasar-u-Minallah has also been a member of the Board of Studies of the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Sargodha, Department of Geography, University of Gujrat, and Center for Integrated Mountain Research (CIMR), University of the Punjab, Institute of Geography, University of the Punjab Lahore Pakistan. His research interests included urban climate change, LULC changes, urban growth, Urban Heat Islands, landscape ecology, ecosystem services, morphology of cities, urbanization, urban environmental issues, urban sustainability, GIS, and urban remote sensing.
