Dr. Warda Fatima has done her MS in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from University of the Punjab (2008) PhD in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from University of the Punjab (2018). Her area of specialization is Human Genetics. She has worked with Cytogenetic and molecular genetic analysis of patients with congenital adrenal hyperplasia, obesity, leukemia and breast cancer. Her PhD project deals with genetic associations of schizophrenia (a psychiatric disorder). Her other project is association of DNA damage repair genes with benign and malignant breast tumors. Till now she has supervised research of twenty five students who have worked with molecular genetic studies of different human genetic disorders including Allgrove syndrome, Breast cancer, benign breast tumors, Duchene muscular dystrophy, leukemia and schizophrenia. she was appointed as Lecturer in Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics University of the Punjab in 2013 and was promoted to Assistant professor in 2018.
